Dear Mr. Lucas Smolcic Larson,
Pursuant to Rhode Island Laws 38-2-3 (e) additional time is needed to comply with your APRA request of October 22, 2018. The request is for email correspondence between officials at RI DLT and email addresses ending in "@brown.edu" for the period January 1, 2018 to present. The searching and retrieval of these emails is potentially voluminous. The emails then must be examined to determine if any exception to providing them exists. Additional time is therefore needed.
You have requested to be informed of changes before fulfilling the request. I will do so as soon as I am aware of any charges.

To Whom It May Concern:
I wanted to follow up on the following Rhode Island Access to Public Records Act request, copied below, and originally submitted on Oct. 22, 2018. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response.
Thanks for your help, and let me know if further clarification is needed.
From: Department of Labor and Training
You have requested: Copies of all email correspondence between officials at DLT and email addresses ending in "@brown.edu<mailto:"Copies%20of%20all%20email%20correspondence%20between%20officials%20at%20DLT%20and%20email%20addresses%20ending%20in%20"@brown.edu>" for the period January 1, 2018 to the present. My IT department informs me that this can only be searched via each DLT email address. We have approximately 400 employees at DLT. Your request states "...officials at the Rhode Island Department of Labor & Training..." Can you identify who those officials are? If it is possible to narrow the group I would like to do so.

Could you please conduct a search for emails between Wendy J. Antonelli, Chief Labor Standards Examiner (wendy_antonelli@dlt.ri.gov) and @brown.edu email addresses? This will satisfy my request.
Thank you,
Lucas

[EXTERNAL] : Question Regarding Holiday Pay
From: Lucas Smolcic Larson
Mary Ellen,
Thank you for this response. Can you clarify when the email search was conducted? In my request I specified emails up to the date my request was fulfilled, and I'm wondering when this was.
Thanks,
Lucas
From: Department of Labor and Training
Lucas,
I received the emails from the IT department the morning of November 26.

Alright, thank you. Is it possible to receive emails from the period between the 26th and the 30th (today)? Or would I have to file another request?
Thanks,
Lucas
From: Department of Labor and Training
You don't need to file another request. I forwarded your request to the IT person and he is out until Monday. I will request it from him on Monday, (through Monday.) Wil that work?

Thank you. One of the emails references an attached spreadsheet. Can you let me know why it wasn't included?
Best,

Lucas,
I put your question to the IT person I am working with. Here is his response:
"I don't know why there's no attachment... maybe there was no attachment in the email to begin with because the sender forgot to attach it."
