Pursuant to the Nevada Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
• The contract, agreement, or equivalent record of any partnerships between the University of Nevada, Reno and Apple (a company that creates consumer technology).
• Any Requests for Proposal or equivalent materials issued for tablets for students use or "Digital Wolf Pack" initiative, as well as all responses provided by any competing companies
• If there is no available RFP, please provide any documentation related to the initiation of this partnership
• All communications between any representative of Apple and any representative of the University of Nevada, Reno for the period from January 1, 2021 through June 1, 2021.
• All policies and proposed restrictions or requirements associated with any technology provided as part of the collaboration, including all materials related to data collection and sharing
It was recently announced that Apple would be collaborating with UNR to provide "all incoming freshmen that will be attending the university in Fall 2021 [with] an iPad Air, an Apple Pencil, and the Apple Smart Keyboard Folio at no cost."

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

1. The University has one or more vendor contracts with Apple, but no contracts that establish a legal partnership with Apple.
2. The University is researching this request.
3. The University has no contracts that establish a legal partnership with Apple.
4. The University has over 8,000 employees; to search the records of 8,000 employees would take months, if not years. Please provide the names of the University representatives whose communications you are requesting, the names of the Apple representatives whose communications you are requesting, and the nature of the communications you are requesting, including but not limited to the topic of the communication.
5. Please clarify the type of restrictions or requirements you are requesting. The University requests clarification on this request.

Thanks so much for your message. To clarify, I'm interested in communications between any Apple representative and President Brian Sandoval (according to this article, he was approached by the company last year about this initiative: https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2021/06/07/university-nevada-reno-partners-apple-address-digital-inequity). I'm also interested in the communications of any other University of Nevada, Reno employee who is directly involved in the organization of the Digital Wolfpack Initiative.
Regarding the point about policies and restrictions, I'm interested in any directives your IT team may have received regarding preparing and distributing the units, as well as any rules, restrictions, or privacy policies that will apply to the devices and students who receive them.
