We are in receipt of your public records request received via FAX on February 20, 2020 for records regarding standards for foods labeled as "natural", "organic" or "healthy" and a database of foods categorized as natural, organic or healthy.

NCDA&CS, Food and Drug Protection Division has adopted by reference the regulations found in Title 21 of the Federal Code of Federal Regulations. While we are not providing legal advice, 21 CFR Parts 101 and 501 contain requirements for Food Labeling and Animal Food Labeling. You may wish to consult with the United States Food and Drug Administration, the North Carolina General Statutes and the North Carolina Administrative Code for more information. You may wish to consult with an attorney for legal advice specific to your particular issue.

NCDA&CS, Food and Drug Protection Division does not maintain a database of foods categorized as "natural", "organic" or "healthy".
