To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

1) Contracts, statements of work, successful RFP/bid response packages, sole source agreements, and other agreements since Jan. 1, 2018 between the university and EAB for the firm's Yield IQ product.

2) All user manuals and/or employee training materials provided to or created by the university regarding use of Yield IQ.

3) The data glossary/dictionary for the university's Yield IQ model. A data glossary/dictionary is a document that lists and defines each variable fed into a predictive model, such as Yield IQ.

4) Documentation of the university's Yield IQ model's performance and accuracy since Jan. 1, 2018. Specifically, this should include reports prepared for the university by EAB that describe metrics such as the Yield IQ model's AUC, how its input variables are weighted, and how the model performs for different groups of students (e.g., students of different races or genders).

If you have questions about any aspect of this request, please don't hesitate to ask.

I ask that all fees be waived as I intend to use the requested records to further public understanding of public education enrollment efforts.

Should you choose to reject this request or redact portions of responsive documents, I ask that you provide a detailed breakdown of the statutory exemptions and associated case law underlying your decision to withhold each/any portions from public review.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Tom Nash, a citizen of Virginia, in coordination with Todd Feathers.
