Pursuant to the Rhode Island Access to Public Records Act ("APRA"), I hereby request the following records:
Any and all mug shots taken of Arthur (Daddy) Black taken between the days of April 23, 1923 and April 23, 1933.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

The Providence Police Department is in receipt of your request seeking "any and all mug shots taken of Arthur (Daddy) Black taken between the days of April 23, 1923 and April 23, 1933." Due to the age of the records, the Department is currently searching archives to determine whether or not any records responsive to your request exist. At this time, the Department has been unable to locate any such records pertaining to Arthur Black.

As per the City's September 5, 2012 email (below), the documents in which you request are of significant age. The City has been unable to locate any such documents and therefore is under the belief that they do not exist. In the event that any are able to be located, the City will review such documents to determine whether or not they are public documents. In the event that the documents exist and are public, they will be provided to you.
