Hi David,

The Office of the Governor has received your October 20, 2016, public records request for "Any and all correspondence to or from employees of the Office of the Governor from email addresses with the domain name "@dga.net" - Any and all correspondence to or from employees of the Office of the Governor that reference the term "Democratic Governors Association" or "DGA." I hereby request such documents from the dates 6/1/16 to the present. This request includes - but is not limited to -- any and all email, invitations, schedules, agendas and/or calendar items."

As an initial step, I have submitted a search for responsive emails. I will be in touch when I receive the results of that search, typically 5-7 business days.
Thanks,

Hi David,

I received the results of my email search; there were 257 results. I removed duplicates and believe there are around 180 unique emails, totaling nearly 600 pages. I estimate the cost to review those emails, and to gather and review non-email responsive records, is $100.

As you may be aware, our office policy<https://www.oregon.gov/gov/media/Pages/Public-Records-Request-Policy.aspx> requires fee waivers to be submitted in writing (relevant portion pasted below). If you decide to request a fee waiver, you may send it in reply to this email.

I will wait to hear from you to begin my review. If you decide to pay the $100, I will send you instructions on submitting payment. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Emily

Fee waivers for public records requests.

Requests for fee waivers or reduced fees must be made in writing to the Office of General Counsel, 160 State Capitol, 900 Court St. NE, Salem OR 97301. The General Counsel's office may furnish copies without charge or at a substantially reduced fee if it is determined that the waiver or reduction of fees is in the public interest because making the record available primarily benefits the general public. The General Counsel's office will determine the appropriateness of fee waivers or adjustments based on the guidance of the relevant statutes and the Attorney General's Public Records and Meetings Manual.

Hi David,

I am following up on my November 7, 2016, email to you inquiring how you want to proceed with your October 20, 2016, public records request.

The Governor's Office Public Records Request Policy provides that the status of a request is deemed "Non-Responsive Requester" when "a requestor fails to respond to inquiries for clarifications, cost estimates, or any other communication from the Governor's Office within 10 business days." (Policy online here<https://www.oregon.gov/gov/media/Pages/Public-Records-Request-Policy.aspx>; relevant portion pasted below.) Therefore if you would like to continue pursuing your October 20 public records request, please respond by Monday, December 5, 2016. If I do not hear from you by December 5, I will close the request as Non-Responsive Requester. Of course, if you decide to pursue the request after December 5, you may resubmit it. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Emily
