To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Ohio Open Records Law, I hereby request the following records:

The log of all calls for service related to the Lake Erie Correctional Facility from January 1, 2010 to the present

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.

Sincerely,

Beryl Lipton

Beryl,

When you say log of all calls for service are you requesting a report that shows each time a trooper was dispatched to the Lake Erie Correctional Facility? If you are requesting copies of any phone calls for service anything over 30 days old would have already been destroyed per our records retention. If you are just wanting a log that shouldn't be a problem to produce.

Hello Lieutenant Cvetan,

Thank you for your response! I am indeed looking for the report showing each time a trooper was dispatched to LaECI. Please let me know if I can clarify anything else!

Have a lovely evening,
Beryl

Beryl,

Attached is the information you requested. Le t me know if you have any questions in interpreting it. Everything with a PSITE disposition is just a routine check of the grounds made by a trooper. These are typically self-initiated by the trooper and not something they are dispatched to.

Hello Lieutenant Cvetan,

I'm looking at this request again, and I'm wondering if you could provide clarification between the difference in the "Area" column between 404 and P04.

Thanks so much for your help. I hope you've been well.

Best,
Beryl

Beryl,

There isn’t any difference between 404 and P04. It was just a coding change in the data that occurred in 2013. They basically have the same meaning (Post 4/Ashtabula County).
