All complaints regarding the Lake Erie Correctional Institution

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Ohio Open Records Law, I hereby request the following records:

All complaints and grievances related to (originating from/mentioning/about) Lake Erie Correctional Institution submitted to the Office of the Chief Inspector and the Contract Monitor associated with LAECI since January 1, 2010

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you for your message. I would like to clarify that I currently have multiple requests filed with the State of Ohio regarding Lake Erie Correctional Institution. I have received a response from the State's Office of the Inspector General. I have also been in touch with Ms. Smith regarding a more general request for any complaints regarding LaECI received by DRC. This request is specifically for complaints and concerns sent to the Contract Monitor. If you could provide guidance on how to make the request more amenable to record recovery based on your organizational system, I would be happy to have it.

Hello Mr. Albright,

I'm wondering if you can please help me with this request. I'm interested in receiving complaints and grievances from Lake Erie Correctional Institution from January 1, 2010. According to the Correctional Institution Inspection Committee's September 2013 report, "the Inspector" had so far that year received 1,426 informal complaints and 151 grievances. Similar numbers had been provided in previous CIIC LaECI reports earlier in 2013 and in 2011. I understand if your office does not physically possess all of these, but I would like to access as many as I can, so any direction you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
