To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Ohio Open Records Law, I hereby request the following records:

The City of Oakwood 2022 Annual report (https://oakwoodohio.gov/documents/2022-oakwood-annual-report/) provides crime statistics.

Please provide incident reports for the incidents classified in the annual report as:

SImple assault

Larceny

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days.

Sincerely,

Hal Flak

This will confirm receipt of your request for certain incident reports. The Safety Department has begun the process of identifying potentially responsive records. Once they are identified, they will be reviewed for legal redaction and produced promptly. I will be in touch as soon as I have a better idea of the timeline.

From: City Of Oakwood

I am advised that all potentially responsive records have been identified and retrieved. Once they have gone through the review/redaction process, which will be completed as expeditiously as possible, I anticipate we will be able to upload them to Muckrock for transmittal to you electronically as we have done for previous requests.

From: City Of Oakwood

My apologies for the delay. Electronic redaction was attempted but did not work as anticipated, so these records are undergoing hand-review for redaction. We expect to have records uploaded by Tues/Wed of next week.

From: City Of Oakwood

I have made several attempts to upload your responsive documents this afternoon, but the MuckRock portal is returning an error message ("Upload failed"). I thought the problem might be file size, but I have tried very small files as well as large ones. None are working today. The documents are in PDF format, 6 files total. Is there another way I can transmit them to you?

From: Hal Flak

Thank you for the message.

Yes, you can use any file sharing service and post the link - please don't require a login if using a service like Google drive, use share by link.

It is possible to mail them, but that isn't the easiest method.

Sorry for the difficulty.

From: Muckrock Staff

Good Afternoon,

I am sorry to hear you have been facing problems with our website's upload feature. Can you please give us some more information which can be shared to our technical team for review? If you have a screenshot to share, that would be helpful as well.

As the requester mentioned, there are other options to consider when sending documents. If your agency has a share file link or if you would like to submit those documents via snail mail, you may use the mailing address listed below.

Thank you.
