To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Rhode Island Access to Public Records Act ("APRA"), I hereby request the following records:
Written procedures for access to the agency’s public records, including any records request forms required or suggested by the agency.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Shawn Musgrave

Hi Ms. Musgrave,
In accordance with your request that we received on April 17, 2014,
attached please find a copy of the North Providence Police Department's
policy that refers to the access of public records. The department follows
the Rhode Island General Laws pertaining to APRA. Our Records Office is
opened Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. All reports are 15
cents per page. Arrest reports or large requests require the person to
fill out a request for records. For any large requests that would take a
longer than normal time to process, the fee is as such: The first hour is
free, then it is $15.00 per hour, and it is also 15 cents per page.
