Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:
All records pertaining to the consideration and decisions of the Board of Trustees and Chancellor regarding the granting of an honorary degree and/or Chancellor's Medal to the late former Prime Minister of Italy, Silvio Berlusconi. These records would date to approximately 2001-2003, during the term of Chancellor Matthew Goldstein. This should include any record reconsidering the decision in light of Berlusconi's criminal offenses.
Additionally, please include any correspondence between the Chancellor's office and Berlusconi (regardless of topic).
Please note that Silvio Berlusconi is widely reported to have died. Any privacy interest considered before granting this request should be considered diminished, and outweighed by the public interest in a historical figure.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
