From: Matthew Guariglia
To whom it may concern:
I am appealing the rejection fo FOIL request 2020-056-15833 for "Any communications concerning and documents generated by New York City Police Department's chief of detectives and the detective bureau concerning the investigation of three officers allegedly drinking a foreign substance at a shake shack on June 15 and June 16, 2020, including emails, memorandums, incident reports, investigation findings, written testimonies, press talking points and media guides" on the grounds that the NYPD could easily redact that names of those involved, and would therefore not invade the personal privacy of anyone involved. The NYPD has said publicly that they conducted an investigation into the incident and have concluded that Shake Shack employees did nothing wrong. I will continue to appeal, and consider legal FOIL litigation, should this report and the investigation documents be released.
Sincerely,
Matthew Guariglia
