Pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (1977 N.Y. Laws ch. 933), I hereby request the following records:
This is a request for a list of all personalized license plates that were rejected by the New York Department of Motor Vehicles for the year 2013. If available I am also looking for:
The reason for the rejection of the personalized plate.
The vehicle make and model.
The City and County where the applicants vehicle would be registered.
I am NOT looking for any personal identifiable information such as first and last name, street number, street name.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

The data you asked for has been ordered from Information Technology Services, but has not yet been received in this office. The due date that has been recorded for us to complete your request is 7/14/2014. We have completed processing your FOIL request and have records available to be emailed to you. Before we can send the records, you will need to pay the $10 search fee.
You can pay the fee by credit card by providing your credit card information by postal mail or by fax. Because email is not secure, we cannot accept your credit card information by email. To pay by credit card, we will need the following information:
* Credit Card number
* Expiration date
* The zip code associated with the credit card
* An authorized signature for us to charge the $10 search fee to the card
* Your FOIL reference number should be included to ensure that the payment is applied appropriately. That number is: 2014-4273
You may fax the credit card information to: (518) 474-8537. If you prefer, you can mail the credit card information (OR a check or money order payable to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles) to:
