All documents, emails, memos, and reports related to or mentioning Tether, Tether Operations Limited, or Tether LLC, a cryptocurrency company that produces a $1 "stablecoin." Their website is: https://tether.to/

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

This email is in response to the above-referenced FOIL request.
The Office of the Attorney General has conducted a diligent search for the records that you have requested.
Please access this request in the NYS OAG FOIL Request Center to retrieve record(s) that respond to your request.
Please be advised that records or portions of records that respond to your above-referenced FOIL request may be exempt from disclosure pursuant to Public Officers Law § 87(2)(d).  Public Officers Law § 87(2)(d) provides that an agency may deny access to records or portions thereof “that are trade secrets or are submitted to an agency by a commercial enterprise or derived from information obtained from commercial enterprise and which if disclosed would cause substantial injury to the competitive position of the subject enterprise.”

The entity that provided these documents has the right to submit a written statement of the necessity for granting or continuing such exception from disclosure.  Public Officers Law § 89(5)(b)(2).

These particular documents will be exempt from disclosure and kept apart from all other records until fifteen days after the entitlement to such an exception has been finally determined.  Public Officers Law § 89(5)(a)(3).  We will notify you when such exception has been finally determined.
