Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:

1. Any and all policies, guidelines, or protocols that govern the actions of state forest rangers when encountering individuals in state parks, including criteria or indicators used to identify someone as a suspect or fugitive.

2. Information on the extent of authority that state forest rangers have in checking the identity of individuals they encounter.

3. The specific circumstances under which state forest rangers are authorized to contact other law enforcement agencies.

4. Specific incident reports, communications, and any other documents related to the discovery and reporting of Jesse Bedell by state forest rangers near Chub Lake in the town of Arietta in from Jan 1 2023 to Sept 5 2023.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
