Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:

Emails with representatives of the New York University Policing Project from 2021 to present. Specifically, I request emails sent to or received from an email address with the domain "@nyu.edu" or "@policingproject.org" that were sent between 01/01/2021 and 03/05/2023.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

The Office of the Attorney General has conducted a diligent search for the records that you have requested. Please access this request in the NYS OAG FOIL Request Center to retrieve records that respond to your request. Please be advised that some of the records that respond to your request have been withheld in their entirety, or portions have been redacted and appear as blacked out in the documents produced to you.  These records, or portions of records, are exempt from disclosure pursuant to: • Public Officers Law § 87(2)(a), which provides that records that are exempted from disclosure by state or federal statute are exempt from disclosure under FOIL.  The records constitute attorney work product, which is exempt from disclosure under Civil Practice Law and Rules § 3101(c); • Public Officers Law § 87(2)(b), because their disclosure would constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy; and • Public Officers Law § 87(2)(e), because the documents requested were compiled for law enforcement purposes and would, if disclosed, interfere with law enforcement investigations or judicial proceedings.
