To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (1977 N.Y. Laws ch. 933), I hereby request the following records:

- any and all records, including incident reports and correspondence, that refer or relate to an incident that occurred on October 24, 2017 in which a “fire suppression system at Commutair malfunctioned…spewing tons of foam throughout the hangar area of the Albany International Airport,” according to to the Albany Times Union (link: http://www.timesunion.com/news/article/Fire-supression-foam-lets-loose-at-airport-12303557.php). This would include any records related to the cleanup of the foam, which, according to a subsequent Times Union article (http://www.timesunion.com/business/article/Answers-sought-Why-did-Albany-airport-hangar-12305421.php), DEC “observed” and determined that “the foam caused no environmental damage.”

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Luke Stoddard Nathan
