Maintenance records
inspection reports
air quality tests
capital improvement reports for all district schools
As background, this request is filed as part of a journalism project looking at HVAC systems across schools in the United States, and similar requests are being filed in additional school districts.
If you have summary reports or other documents that are likely to include largely similar information and are easier to provide, I’m willing to accept those as a substitute.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Re: Initial Response to PRA Request
Dear Apoorvaa Mandar Bichu
Please allow this correspondence to serve as the District's initial
response to your California Public Records Act request received by the
District on January 12, 2022.
Please note that our website (NVUSD.ORG) under the About section contains
information about obtaining public records. Administrative Regulation 1340
also provides additional details.
Per our board policy, we are required to charge for copy fees regardless of
if the records exist in paper or electronic format. Additionally, when a
request requires data compilation, the requester shall bear the cost of
producing a copy of the record, including the cost to construct a record,
and the cost of programming and computer services.
We have determined that the records you requested will require data
compilation and computer services. As such, we estimate that it will take
approximately 2 hours to compile the information requested in your PRA.
The rate for this data compilation is $45.68 per hour or a total of
$91.36. Additionally, we estimate that your request will be approximately
50 pages long. The copy fee for this is $.25 per page or a total of
$12.50. The total fee for data compilation and copies is $103.86. Please
send a check payable to Napa Valley Unified School District Attn:
Operational Services, 1616 Lincoln Avenue, Napa, CA 94558. Upon receipt
of your check, we anticipate that it will take 3-4 weeks to process your
request.
