Dear Rachana Pradhan,
On behalf of NH DHHS, I am responding to your Right to Know request below. We did not receive your request until March 4, 2021.
In response to request #1,
The data in the table below is the basis of the wastage rate of less than 1% for state-issued vaccine only. NH currently has access to wastage data for State-run sites and hospital sites. Data related to the federal allocation of vaccine (CVS, Walgreens, federal partners such as VA or federal prisons) is held by the CDC and we are currently working to get access to that data.
In the meantime, we can provide wastage data on doses sent directly to the State. Here is the data as of today, March 10. Total doses distributed equals 343150.
Reason
Frequency
Broken Vial/Syringe
1542
Lost or unaccounted for vaccine
118
Open vial but all doses not administered
572
Vaccine drawn into syringe but not admin

From: Department of Health and Human Services
Hello. I am responding to your follow up question below.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide data for the time period requested.
Our current tracking system does not give us the ability to retrieve wastage data for a certain time period.
Best,

Hi there, just one more clarification -- the total is 2,384 doses wasted as of March 10, correct?
Is this just a single day of vaccine waste or is it cumulative over a period of time (i.e., since vaccinations began in December through March 10?)
From: Department of Health and Human Services
Hi. Yes, the data provided below is cumulative from the beginning of vaccine administration through March 10, 2021.
