Pursuant to the Minnesota Data Practices Act, I hereby request the following documents:

Copies of all reports, lists, or databases detailing the number and/or status of lawsuits brought against the city's police department since 2011. This should include requests for, or documentation of, funds used to cover settlement agreements, court costs, or other expenses related to lawsuits.

This request should be construed to include any document submitted to, compiled by, or in any way maintained by the city council that lists lawsuits brought against the police department between 2011-2016. If a document exists that contains the requested information for some, but not all of the above mentioned years, please include that/those document(s).

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.

Good Afternoon,

City Attorney Civil Litigation has provided two reports (Lawsuits and Claims/Officer Conduct Expense) for your request.

The format of the data we provide (for example, electronic or paper) does not impact the ability to charge. In this case, the fee is a flat 25cents per page rate applies. The total for this is $5.50. Inspection of responsive data is free only when done in our Records Unit Office, Mon-Fri 8:00am to 4:00pm. Attached are our Fees for Data Requests.

Please advise if you will be inspecting and/or purchasing this data in our office or if you wish to pay for it to be emailed to you, then an invoice will be sent to you.
