Pursuant to the California Public Records Act (California Government Code §§ 6250), I hereby request the following records:
All email and text messages (i.e. SMS messages) related to city business and affairs sent from and received by Mountain View city council members and Mayor Ken Rosenberg, for the dates of March 5, 2017 through March 12, 2017.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

This is a timely response to your Public Records Act request received by the City on October 19, 2017. City staff is in the process of diligently searching for records responsive to your request. However, more time is needed to complete your request based on the number of persons from whom records are sought, the fact that records are located off site, and the time needed to appropriately review the records. As such, the City will require an extension to provide you with a determination as authorized by California Government Code section 6253(c). This provision authorizes an extension of up to 14 days form the initial 10 day response deadline of October 30, 2017. We will therefore provide you with a determination on your request by November 13, 2017.
