Pursuant to the Maryland Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

The incident report and any investigative reports, including police and school resource officer narratives, produced in relation to the shooting incident at Magruder High School on 1/21/2022 located at 5939 Muncaster Mill Rd, Derwood, MD 20855.

In the event that there are fees, I would request a waiver, as I am a member of a nonprofit media outlet and these records will be used in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

I would prefer the request filed electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

The Montgomery County Police Department has reviewed your request and has determined that the records requested are exempt from disclosure under MPIA for the following reasons:
Pursuant to the Courts and Judicial Proceedings Article of the Maryland Code, titled “Confidentiality of Records” subtitle “Police Records” Section 3-8A-27 (a)(1), permission to inspect these records is denied. These records are associated with a juvenile and cannot be released. The Courts and Judicial Proceeding Article of the Maryland Code also known as “other law,” supersedes the Maryland Public Information Act.
