Pursuant to the The Missouri Sunshine Law, I hereby request the following records:
A copy of all records related to persons serving drug free zone law sentence enhancements– as mentioned in Missouri Revised Statutes 579.030, 579.055, 579.065.3(11) – in the state of Missouri on the state and local levels. These records should, if available, state names, date of conviction, inmate ID and parole eligibility date and any demographic data that has been collected. I am specifically looking for records from 2015 to the date that this request is processed.
In addition, I am requesting a copy of any and all reports or studies generated by the state that discuss the passage and efficacy of the drug free zone law.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

Can you please specify the context around the lack of documents? Is it because the Missouri Department of Corrections is not the host of this information or is it because there have been no individuals who have served a "drug-free zone law sentence enhancement" since 2015?

I'm following up on the following The Missouri Sunshine Law request, copied below, and originally submitted on Oct. 30, 2023. You had previously indicated that it would be completed on Jan. 18, 2024. I wanted to check on the status of my request, and to see if there was a new estimated completion date.

I am sorry about the delayed response but I had to go back to our research team. It is because the department does not track this information, not because there have been no individuals who have served a "drug-free zone law sentence enhancement" since 2015.
