Ms. McClain, I received on June 15, 2022, your request for records dated June 3, 2022, referring to a request dated September 10, 2018, concerning communications between House and Senate members with the Missouri Department of Corrections.

The House of Representatives is not the custodian of records of individual representatives. The Missouri Constitution, Article III, Section 19, states that "Each member of the general assembly is the custodian of legislative records under the custody and control of the member, their employees and staff." The names and office addresses of members of the House of Representatives are located on the House website:

If you are searching for information concerning a specific bill, you may find helpful the 2018 House Journal index found here:

HB 9 (2018) was the appropriations bill for the Department of Corrections that was truly agreed to in 2018 for FY2019. The bill page is located here:

If there were any responsive records submitted as part of the committee process in connection with pending legislation, those committee records and any bill file would have been archived with the Missouri Secretary of State. You may contact that office at:

Our appropriations staff located one record from the Department of Corrections regarding the FY2019 budget presentation, which is attached to this email. In addition, the FY2019 "budget books" submitted by the department are online and may be accessed here:
