To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to Wisconsin's Open Records act, I hereby request the following records:

Any and all available dog licensing and registration data for animals within your jurisdiction.

Please include all available segregable data, including but not limited to:

• the type of animal
• the breed of the pet
• the pet's date of birth
• the pet's name
• the owner's address or applicable zip code
• any other available notes

Also, I am requesting that the data be sent in Excel format.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.

I am in receipt of your e-mailed Public Records request dated July 19, 2017.
I am custodian of the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission
public records. I have carefully analyzed your request. I respond to your
request as follows:

YOUR REQUEST: Any and all available dog licensing and registration data for
animals within your jurisdiction. Please include all available segregable
data, including but not limited to: the type of animal, the breed of the
pet, the pet's date of birth, the pet's name, the owner's address or
applicable zip code, any other available notes

RESPONSE: I have carefully considered this request and your request is
being denied for the following reason (Wisconsin Statute 19.35(1),3h) :

(h) A request under pars.

<https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/document/statutes/19.35(1)(f)> (f) is
deemed sufficient if it reasonably describes the requested record or the
information requested. However, a request for a record without a reasonable
limitation as to subject matter or length of time represented by the record
does not constitute a sufficient request. A request may be made orally, but
a request must be in writing before an action to enforce the request is
commenced under s.

Because MADACC has denied your request as to the records requested, you have
a right to challenge MADACC’s decision to deny access to those records by
filing an action for mandamus under Wis. Stat. §19.37(1) or upon application
to the attorney general or the district attorney.
