Michigan State Police Social Media Monitoring

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to Michigan's Freedom of Information Act ("FOIA"), I hereby request the following records:

All documents related to the monitoring of social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) by Michigan State Police, especially its Intelligence Operations Center, including training documents, reports, assessments, etc.

All documents related to the purchase or acquisition of, subscription to, or agreements concerning software designed to access information from social media accounts.

According to a statement by Michigan State Police spokesperson Shanon Banner to MLive and e-mails released by Governor Snyder's office, the Michigan State Police actively monitors social media accounts. The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
