The City has reviewed your request and denied the request on the following basis. You have not requested an identifiable document for inspection. Pursuant to the Tennessee Public Records Act, a request shall be sufficiently detailed to enable the governmental entity to identify the specific record(s) for inspection. The Tennessee Public Records Act "shall not be construed as requiring a governmental entity to sort through files to compile information or to create a record that does not exist." Tenn. Code Ann. §10-7-503(a)(4).
This completes your public records request with the City of Memphis.
Sincerely,
Public Records Office
