Pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
All proposed and approved plans to rezone the district's elementary schools and associated demographic reports.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

We received the Open Records Request which was faxed to our office. In
response to your request, please be advised that the McDuffie County Board
of Education does not have any plans at the present time to rezone our
elementary schools.
Attached is a map which reflects the current attendance zones for the
district.

The following is the current demographic information for the elementary
attendance zones (as of May 22, 2015 - the end of our 2014-2015 school
year):
*Dearing Attendance Zone*
Dearing Elementary (grades PK - 5) 526 total students, 267 boys and 259
girls, 116 Black students, 56 Hispanic students, 4 American Indian/Alaskan
Native students, 45 Multi-Racial students, 305 White students
*Thomson Attendance Zone*
Maxwell Elementary (grades PK - 1) 655 total students, 329 boys and 326
girls, 432 Black students, 12 Hispanic students, 13 Multi-Racial students,
1 Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander student, 5 Asian students and 192
White students.
Thomson Elementary (grades 2-3) 483 total students, 229 boys and 254 girls,
315 Black students, 8 Hispanic students, 12 Multi-Racial students, 1 Native
Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander student, 4 Asian students and 143 White
students.
Norris Elementary (grades 4-5) 460 total students, 229 boys and 231 girls,
270 Black students, 5 Hispanic students, 1 American Indian/Alaskan Native
student, 14 Multi-Racial students, 1 Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander
student, 2 Asian students and 167 White students.
