Pursuant to the Hawaii Uniform Information Practices Act, I hereby request the following records:
Documents, emails, white papers, etc. discussing eminent domain and other forms of compulsory government acquisition of title-to or use-of real estate in Maui County, between August 9, 2023 and this date. Please include any email containing any of the phrases/words "eminent domain", "seize", "commandeer", "force owners", "force landlords".
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

You claim to not have these records, and direct me to "Department of Finance: Real Property Office", but I am looking for documents, emails, etc. created by or sent to the Mayor's Office, not real estate records. Does the Department of Finance manage the Mayor's office emails and other correspondence?

The Office of Information Practices (OIP) administers Hawaii’s open meetings law at part I of chapter 92, Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS), and open records laws, the Uniform Information Practices Act (Modified), chapter 92F, HRS (UIPA). OIP does not maintain the records of other agencies; nor does it have any records responsive to your request.
The subject matter of your email states that you are seeking eminent domain information, and it appears that an unidentified agency directed you to Department of Finance: Real Property Office. However, in another email below, it states that you are looking for documents, emails, etc. created by or sent to the Maui County Mayor's Office.
