To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, M.G.L. c.66, §10, I hereby request the following records:

All documents concerning the Community Path Extension produced by MBTA, MassDOT, consultants or contractors in relation to or in support of the Green Line Extension "Interim Project Management Team Report", as presented on May 9, 2016 to the MassDOT board. This request shall explicitly include, but is not limited to, all detailed cost estimates produced concerning the Community Path Extension.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest, as suggested but not stipulated by the recommendations of the Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records.

I request that the request to be filled in an accessible format, including for screen readers, which provide text-to-speech for persons unable to read print. Files that are not accessible to screen readers include, for example, .pdf image files as well as physical documents.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Jonah Petri

Dear Ms Diaz-Gonzalez,

Thank you for your prompt response. The documents as requested do not seem to be available at the URL you provided. To help identify the documents in question, I would like to refer to the following text from pages 81-82 of the report available here: http://www.mbta.com/uploadedfiles/About_the_T/Board_Meetings/GLXBOARDREPORTFINALv2.pdf

"Because of this, the order of magnitude cost of the Path as originally designed was in the range of $100 million, based on a cost comparison prepared by the IPMT. An alternative, simplified Community Path concept has been developed by the IPMT that reduces the structures required to support the Path and the time required to build it. We believe that the cost of the alternative Path concept is approximately $20 million."

The documents I am requesting are:
• the detailed cost estimate of $100M, as mentioned above,
• the detailed cost estimates of the $20M plan, also as mentioned above.

I have been unable to find these documents at the link you provided. Thank you in advance for you assistance.

Best regards,
Jonah Petri

To Whom It May Concern:

I wanted to follow up on the following Freedom of Information request, copied below, and originally submitted on Oct. 11, 2016. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response, or if further clarification is needed. You had assigned it reference number #16-0799.

As it has been over a month since your last communication on this matter, I would like to remind you that the statue requires the department's response to this request within 10 calendar days of the original request. Given that the two documents I have requested were provided by the IPMT to the Commonwealth, it should not be hard to provide them without further delay.

I look forward to your prompt response.
