Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, M.G.L. c.66, §10, I hereby request the following records:

All email metadata of Patricia Cabral, Shelter and Rescue Coordinator in the Division of Animal Health. Her email address is Patricia.Cabral@state.ma.us. I am specifically seeking the "To," "From," and "Date" fields of all emails between when she began working for the MDAR and the date this request is processed. I am not seeking metadata in the "Subject" field at this time.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest, as suggested but not stipulated by the recommendations of the Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

I expect the request to be filled in an accessible format, including for screen readers, which provide text-to-speech for persons unable to read print. Files that are not accessible to screen readers include, for example, .pdf image files as well as physical documents.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Hi Ms. Szocik,

Thank you for getting back to me. The amount of time it takes to extract metadata from an email server is very little. Here is a guide on how to export emails from Outlook to an Excel spreadsheet: http://smallbusiness.chron.com/export-outlook-emails-excel-spreadsheets-41441.html. I suspect that it is relatively simple to just delete the columns that aren't relevant to my request (i.e. the subject field and body of the email). I am sure that somebody who works in IT can help you out with this -- it shouldn't require sifting through emails or anything like that, so I am hoping the amount of work will be minimal on your part.

I would like to add to this request the email metadata of Michael Cahill, Linda Harrod, and Jessica Edwards. I would like to clarify that I am seeking the email metadata for Linda Harrod, Jessica Edwards, and Michael Cahill for the period of January 1, 2016 through May 23, 2016. I would really appreciate it if you could provide this data in a spreadsheet using the instructions I provided previously. Again, I am seeking the "To," "From," (including CC and BCC) and "Date" fields, but not the "Subject" field.
