Contracts with consulting groups

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, M.G.L. c.66, §10, I hereby request the following records:

Any and all contracts the Secretary of the Commonwealth's office has entered into since 2008 with the following companies:

-Squier Knapp & Dunn Communications
-SKDKnickerbocker

According to state spending records, the Secretary's office has paid SKDKnickerbocker more than $200,000 since FY2010, and Squier Knapp & Dunn more than $130,000.

I also request that all fees be waived as I am a journalist -- employed by MuckRock and the Boston Globe -- and intend to use any pertinent information I receive as a result of this request to educate the public.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Thank you for your prompt response to my request concerning contracts with SKDKnickerbocker and Squier Knapp & Dunn. As you kindly offered to do in your most recent letter, I would appreciate it if you could break down the $254 fee for these documents.

Additionally, would it be possible for me to review the documents in person prior to paying the fee?
