Daily Download, Maryland Public Broadcasting Commission Correspondence

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to Maryland's Public Information Act ("PIA"), I herby request the following records:

Any and all records and/or correspondence, written or electronic, dated between March 1 2011 and the date this request is fulfilled, concerning the development, funding, and maintenance of The Daily Download (daily-download.com), a website launched under a partnership between Maryland Public Television and Ashburn Media Company.

Records requested include:

— Any and all correspondence between Lauren Ashburn, Howard Kurtz, and/or Ashburn Media Company and any employee or executive of the Maryland Public Broadcasting Commission

— Any and all correspondence between or among any employee of the Maryland Public Broadcasting Commission regarding Maryland Public Television’s 2012 partnership with Ashburn Media Company to create The Daily Download

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 30 business days, as the statute requires.
