Pursuant to the Maine Freedom of Access Act ("FOAA"), I hereby request the following records:

-The Equitable Sharing Agreement and Certification forms submitted as required to the United States Department of Justice for the years 2011 through 2016.
-Total civil asset forfeiture figures per year for the years 2010 through the date this request is processed.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest, as suggested but not stipulated by 1 M.R.S.A. § 408(6). The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

As soon as we have completed our work on the prior FOAA request you submitted, we will begin to continue to process your request of 11 July 2017. At that time I will be able to provide a revised time and cost estimate to you.

With regard to your prior FOAA request, I have been, and still am, awaiting a reply from you to my email to you of 07 August 2017, which was a follow-up email to one I had sent you on 27 July 2017 to which you also did not respond.

That 27 July email read as follows:
The staff time fee to ascertain information responsive to your request for calendar year 2017 alone would be approximately $25 to $40.

The staff time fee to ascertain information responsive to your request for calendar years 2016 and 2017 would be approximately $225 to $240.

The staff time fee to ascertain information responsive to your request for calendar years 2015, 2016, and 2017 would be approximately $535 to $550.

Given those estimates, whenever convenient, please let me know how you would like us to proceed.
