To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act., I hereby request the following records:

Please send any and all reports related to a body recovered in the vicinity or near Silver Lake boat ramp on Aug. 7 or Aug. 8. Please include all reports, including crime scene, patrol or investigative reports generated by your officers or reports submitted to you by other agencies, including Highland Police Department.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

On Saturday, August 7, 2021, the Highland Police Department responded to a residence in Highland in reference to the discovery of an unattended death. Through the course of the investigation that included Highland Police Department, the Coroner’s office and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit, it was determined there was no foul play suspected.

On Sunday, August 8, 2021, Officers from the Highland Police Department assisted the Madison County Sheriff’s Department with the investigation of another unattended death. This unattended death occurred outside of the city limits of Highland. Madison County Sheriff’s Department is in charge of the investigation.
