Pursuant to the Nevada Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
-All UAS (unmanned aerial systems) flight logs from 2023
-All written requests for UAS deployment from 2023
-All Part 107 certifications for agency UAS operators.
-All FAA and Nevada Department of Public Safety UAS registrations.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Mr. Capuano,
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is in receipt of your public records request to obtain information about the Unmanned Aerial System.
I have reviewed the request and determined that some of the information you requested is available now, and attached to this email, however there are other parts that will take time to research and get transferred to the proper medium for release. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office cannot fulfill this request within five (5) business days by March 12, 2024. This is notice serves that the Sheriff’s Office is unable to make the public record available by that date and the earliest date and time the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reasonably believes the public records will be available for you to inspect or copy or after which a copy of the public book or record will be available to the ACLU of Nevada is April 5, 2024.
The Sheriff’s Office desires to make a reasonable effort to assist you to focus the request in such a manner as to maximize the likelihood you will be able to inspect, copy or receive a copy of the public records requested as expeditiously as possible. If you have specific dates or names or other information, that will allow us to expedite the search on our end, or if you can narrow the search to include specific types of information. This notice and request is made pursuant to NRS 239.0107.
Thank you for your continued cooperation in this matter.

There is no written request for UAS operation that I am aware of, the requests are made as needed and contact is made by our dispatch center via phone or radio. I have requested the the flight logs for our UAS program for 2023, once I have those I will upload them to you.
