From: C. Taylor

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Today, Lubbock PD has reported that of the 298 reports from January 1, 2018 thru November 30, 2021 that 297 reports are for PC25.03 Interference with Child Custody and 1 report for PC25.10 Interference with Rights of Parental Guardian.

How many of those 297 cases were no billed, pleaded or prosecuted fully? What is their case status?

I am not seeking personal or investigative data only numbers.

I am also requesting the email correspondence within your office, to include any discussion as to the reason why the District Attorney transferred the case to the State of Texas (AG) regarding Kyle Carruth and Chad Read? Why would the Lubbock DA not pursue charges themself?

Kindly provide the Govt Code and/or local code cited for the case transfer. Thank you.

My requests are for legislative research.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Claudia Ovalles
