To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
This request has a date range of January 1st 2013 to the date this request is processed.
All policies, rules, and regulations regarding the entering of homes. This is not just a request for policies regarding when officers can enter homes, with a warrant or without, although that too is included, but this is a request for information on the regulations regarding how police can do that, what they can and cannot do.
-All complaints the Department has received in the time frame noted above from citizens who had their homes entered by officers. That is to say, this is a request for complaints regarding domicile entrance by police.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.
In response to your Public Information request I have attached the Public copy of the portion of the Lubbock Police Manual that pertains to your request, as redacted by the Texas State Attorney General's office.
In response to your request for the number of times the Lubbock Police Department has received complaints from citizens "who had their homes entered by officers;" we are unable to track this individual statistic in our system.
