Pursuant to the Louisiana Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:

A file containing the university-affiliated email addresses, first and last names of all enrolled Louisiana State University students as of the Spring 2021 semester.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

Dear Jonathan -

This email is to acknowledge receipt of Public Records Request made in your e-mail, copied below, pursuant to Louisiana Public Records Law.

LSU does not, in any one format, maintain a directory of student names, mailing addresses, telephone numbers, etc. LSU uses a legacy system for our student records. Even if LSU had a list as you requested, it would be overly burdensome to sort through the records to identify any potentially exempt records, for instance students with Buckley holds, because it would require personnel to have to look every individual student up as the system has very limited reporting capabilities. As such, we are unable to provide any directory information or subsets of student directory information, as it would be unreasonably burdensome to comply with this request. See La. R.S. 44:33(A)(2).

This communication concludes the Public Records Request. LSU requests that you acknowledge receipt of this email.
