From: Runa Sandvik
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
On July 20 2012, Dateline NBC released an episode titled “The Night Lynsie Disappeared” about the 2001 disappearance of Lynsie Ekelund. In this episode, Detective Larry Montgomery and Officer Spring Sandele share details about the investigation and how they solved the case.
At around the 32-minute mark, Officer Spring Sandele details going undercover as Nicole Anderson, while armed and wearing a wire. Host and journalist Josh Mankiewicz then says Officer Sandele was “posing as a student reporter, complete with a phony press pass.”
I’d like to request a copy of the press pass used by Officer Spring Sandele on this day, likely sometime in October 2010.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Runa Sandvik
