Good afternoon,
RE: PRA #21-844 MI (LASD Ransomware Policies)

We are auditing our Public Records Act (PRA) requests from 2021 and unfortunately, came across your open PRA request. First, our apologies for the delay in handling your request. Currently, the LASD has received and continues to receive an exceptionally large volume of PRA requests and we are, therefore, experiencing an extended delay in processing them.

This email is to inquire with you today to confirm if the requested records were still needed.

Please respond to this email to confirm if you would still like us to continue with processing your PRA request or if these records are no longer needed and we can close out your request.

We hope to hear from you by August 31, 2022. After which, this PRA will be considered closed by the LASD. Again, we sincerely apologize for the delay and look forward to your response.

Thank you,
Discovery Unit
