1. Total number of concealed carry weapon (CCW) license applications received by LASD from 01/01/2018 – 09/10/19. Please include any/all applications from judges, deputy district attorneys, reserve police officers or reserve deputy sheriffs.
2. Total number of CCW license applications approved/issued byLASD from 01/01/2018 – 09/10/19. Please include any/all applications from judges, deputy district attorneys, reserve police officers or reserve deputy sheriffs.
3. Total number of CCW applications denied by LASD from 01/01/2018 – 09/10/19 Please include any/all applications from judges, deputy district attorneys, reserve police officers or reserve deputy sheriffs.
4. Names and occupations/professions of CCW applicants denied by LASD from 01/01/2018 – 09/10/19. Please include any/all judges, deputy district attorneys, reserve police officers or reserve deputy sheriffs.
5. Names and occupations/professions of CCW applicants approved byLASD from 01/01/2018 – 09/10/19. Please include any/all judges, deputy district attorneys, reserve police officers or reserve deputy sheriffs.
6. LASD policy/review procedures for CCW applications. Specifically, who initially receives the application, after receipt what path does the application take up to and including approval. More specifically who exactly is involved in the review process.
7. Is the LASD policy/review procedure for review of CCW applications the same for all categories of people; judges, reserve deputies/police officers, and average citizens. If the policy/review procedure is different for any of the listed categories please detail each category.

With regard to items 6 and 7 the exact person assigned to each level of the review process is being requested. If you feel that information is legally exempt from disclosure, please cite the legal authority for the exemption, and in the alternative please provide the job title, i.e. sergeant, captain, legal aid, secretary, etc, of each person involved in the review process. If no formal procedure exists with regards to policy/review procedure of CCW

8. Names and occupations/professions of all current/active concealed carry weapon (CCW) license holders issued by LASD and the date their CCW expires. Please include any/all judges, deputy district attorneys, reserve police officers or reserve deputy sheriffs.

9. Names and occupations/professions of pending CCW applications from 01/01/18 – 09/10/19. Please include any/all judges, deputy district attorneys, reserve police officers or reserve deputy sheriffs and list where they are in the CCW process as outlined by LASD.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Not having reviewed all of the records, we cannot specify all the applicable authorities upon which records would be withheld or redactions would be required. The authorities may include, but are not limited to, the following: California Constitution, article I, section 1; matters protected by the attorney-client, official information, and deliberative process privileges; matters relating to pending litigation, personnel matters, investigations, or where the particular facts and circumstances warrant nondisclosure of the information. (Government Code §§ 6254 (a), (b), (c), (f), (k), and 6255(a).)
