From: Jonathan Mummolo

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the California Public Records Act (California Government Code §§ 6250), I hereby request the following records:

A data file containing records of all Part I crimes in the LAPD's jurisdiction since Jan. 1, 2008. Each row of this spreadsheet should display an individual crime record containing the location (street address, including Zipcode if possible), specific Part I crime (homicide, rape, arson, etc.) and date of the crime. The names of suspects should be omitted for purposes of confidentiality.

If records dating back to Jan. 1, 2008 are not available, please provide me with the above information for as far back as such records exist.

I am a researcher at Stanford University and this request is being made for academic and not commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Mummolo

Mr. Clifton,

Thank you so much for clarifying. I was not aware the file contained both types of crimes. In light of this please close my current request. Apologies for any inconvenience.
