There are three types of responsive information, and most records contain a combination.  First, available non-protected responsive records.  Second, information the Texas Attorney General previously determined confidential (see attached) and any information the Irving ISD determines is protected from disclosure by the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).  The Irving ISD will automatically redact this protected information prior to disclosure.  If your request only addresses these two types of information, as soon as practicable you will be contacted about the availability of the requested records (no records found or date of production and potential costs) and/or provided with copies of the records in question as redacted. A third type of responsive information may be covered by a discretionary exception to the PIA such as, but not limited to, attorney-client and/or attorney work product privileges.  The district is not allowed to automatically withhold or redact this information but must first seek a ruling from the Attorney General.  Such a petition shall be sent to the Attorney General and you within ten days of your request being received by the Irving ISD, but can ultimately delay the process since the Attorney General has 45 days to respond to the district’s request.  Therefore, we ask you to agree the Irving ISD may redact any attorney client, litigation, or attorney work product deemed necessary by law without seeking a ruling from the Attorney General. If your request is for student directory information, please note that our district policy FL(Local) only designates the student name, enrollment/withdraw dates, campus(es) attended, current grade level, and graduation status.  No other information will be released in compliance with FERPA; therefore, we will not produce the such information as student addresses or phone numbers.  If you have requested such information, we request that you please clarify/revise your request in compliance with our district policy. Do you want the actual raise amount (ie salary table for each year and paybands)?   The District produces salary tables each year that can be located on our website, Salary Schedules.  For staff on salary tables, it’s easy to see the increases in the salary table information.  For the paybands, the percentage is based on the mid-range of the pay band.

Under Section 552.275, the IISD has established a reasonable limit, not less than 15 hours for a one month period or 36 hours in a 12 month period.  If your invoice is not paid, this time will be added to the time limits prescribed.  Once these limits are reached, IISD will not provide responsive information until you submit payment.  At this time, you have accumulated 1.25 hours.
