According to the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, Cook County requested $1,433,000 from the 2023 UASI grant program for the following purpose: "Critical Systems Maintenance."

Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act., I hereby request the following records:

A copy of all documents, including but not limited to, applications, agreements, and reporting documents, including all annual reports and other reporting materials submitted by the grantee for the $1,433,000 the grantee received from the 2023 UASI grant program, according to IEMA.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Thank you for your recent FOIA requests for $3,812,600 for the STIC: "Watch Center Maintenance/Intelligence Sharing and Terrorism Prevention Activities" and of that $3,812,600, $2,340,874 is from 2023 UASI fund; $3,202,291 from 2023 UASI grant program for "Interoperable Communications"; $1,433,000 from 2023 UASI grant program for "Critical Systems Maintenance". In an effort to comply with provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140), the Agency is 1) sending the following information and 2) redacting part of your request in accordance with Section 7(1)(v) of the Freedom of Information Act. That Section states:

7(1)(v) " Vulnerability assessments, security measures, and response policies or plans that are designed to identify, prevent, or respond to potential attacks upon a community's population or systems, facilities, or installations, the destruction or contamination of which would constitute a clear and present danger to the health or safety of the community, but only to the extent that disclosure could reasonably be expected to jeopardize the effectiveness of the measures or the safety of the personnel who implement them or the public. Information exempt under this item may include such things as details pertaining to the mobilization or deployment of personnel or equipment, to the operation of communication systems or protocols, or to tactical operations."
