Pursuant to Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
A copy of all emails received by Henrico County Public Schools regarding the four minute, animated video--"Structural Discrimination: The Unequal Opportunity Race"--shown to students at an assembly.
The video and the ensuing controversy was widely covered in the press, including in the Washington Post: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/education/wp/2016/02/11/parents-outraged-after-students-shown-white-guilt-cartoon-for-black-history-month/.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Your request seeks “a copy of all emails received by Henrico County Public Schools regarding the four minute, animated video--"Structural Discrimination: The Unequal Opportunity Race"--shown to students at an assembly. We need clarification on what you mean by “Henrico County Public Schools”? Do you mean to the School Board or to other folks as well? I can tell you that including any and all HCPS email addresses, of which there are thousands, would take months to complete and the cost would be exorbitant.
If you can narrow down the folks who may have received the emails you are looking for, we would be happy to revise the time/monetary estimate. I can say, for example, that if the request is limited to emails received by School Board members, we would expect the request to cost less than $100. Please let me know how you wish to proceed.
