Pursuant to the Pennsylvania Right to Know Act, I hereby request the following records:

Materials related to and sufficient to show all instances of alleged or actual inappropriate or illegal behavior or actions resulting in compensation or expenditures involving this agency.

Responsive materials include records of all settlements (formal and informal) and payments to which this agency was or is a party for the period from January 1, 2010 through the date this request is processed. Responsive materials include those for matters and legal claims resolved prior to the initiation of any litigation.

In particular, materials responsive to this request include all reports, lists, databases, spreadsheets, and other documentation detailing incidents of legal claims or other allegations requiring compensation for claimants, attorneys, or any other party.

If spreadsheets or similar documents are available in response to this request, please provide all segregable data, including but not limited to:

The nature of the claim or legal matter
The claimant and other parties involved
The relevant case and tracking numbers for court and internal systems
The date the lawsuit was served or litigation commenced
The final disposition or current status of the case, including whether a case is still pending
The amount spent to date as a result of the legal engagement
The amount paid to any parties related to the legal claim, including any city payout and any non-monetary compensation

Thank you for contacting Lower Paxton Township with your request for information pursuant to the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law.

On July 20, 2020, we received your Right-to-Know form via CrimeWatch requesting:

In regard to your request and in accordance with the Right-to-Know Law, Section 902, Extension of Time, paragraph (a), number 4, the Township requires an extension of time to respond to your request due to:

(4) A legal review is necessary to determine whether the record is a record subject to access under this act

The Township will provide a response to your request for records within thirty (30) days from the date of this email.

If you believe that the information provided herein is unresponsive to your request, you have a right to appeal to the PA Office of Open Records. Appeals must be submitted, in writing, to the Executive Director of the Office of Open Records, 333 Market Street, 16th Floor, Harrisburg, PA 17126-0333.

If you choose to file an appeal you must do so within 15 business days of the mailing date of the Township's response, in accordance with Section 1101 of the Right-To-Know Law. Thanks for reaching out.
Just to clarify, it says your request was submitted on June 27, 2020, however, that is false. The request we received came in on July 20, 2020.
We followed up with an email, almost immediately stating we would need more time to complete the request as is permissible by RTK Law.
We have 30 days to reply from the date of our email: 7/21/20.
