Pursuant to the Montana Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
A copy of any initial arrest report (or initial offense report) alleging or involving a violation of Mont. Code § 45-8-212, or in which the general nature of charges includes the words "defamation," "defamatory," "defamed," "libel," "libeled," "slander," or "slandered." This request is limited to reports generated on or after January 1, 2019.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

The Great Falls Police Department received the attached request for police records. Please submit this request via our normal process through our JustFOIA portal for tracking reasons and to agree to terms prior to processing:

Please note that once submitted, the response time will be longer than 10 days. This information is not readily available via a report so further investigation will need to be conducted to see what responsive information may be gathered, and if found, redactions will likely be required.
Also note that incident reports are confidential criminal justice information as defined by Montana Code Annotated § 44-5-103(3) and cannot be disseminated in response to your request. However, the Call For Service (CFS) command log/dispatch log is considered public criminal justice information and may be released to you if available.
We do not have a time/charge estimate at this time, as it is dependent on the number of responsive records, which is currently unknown. Charges will be based on my time at that point.
