According to the press release from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, Fredericksburg was awarded $578,000 (grant application # 508983) as part of the Law Enforcement Equipment-Training Grant Program.

Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

A copy of all documents, including but not limited to, applications, agreements, and reporting documents related to the $578,000 received as part of the Law Enforcement Equipment-Training Grant Program.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Mr. Nash:

Thank you for your request for documents from the City of Fredericksburg. You requested documents related to “A copy of all documents, including but not limited to, applications, agreements, and reporting documents related to the $578,000 received as part of the Law Enforcement Equipment-Training Grant Program.”

In response, the City is providing the following documents:

1) Award notification from Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) and application submission;

2) Reporting submission and supporting documentation for quarter ended September 30, 2023; and

3) Expenditures for the quarter ended December 31, 2023. (Reporting submission is currently in progress.)

The City’s charges for the searching and preparation of these documents is $56.36. An invoice for this amount is attached.
