RE: REQUEST FOR ACCESS TO PUBLIC RECORDS
DATE: JUNE 9, 2020 RE: BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY AGENDAS AND MINUTES - JANUARY 1, 2015 - JUNE 8, 2020
Dear Mr. Thornton:
The Law Department is in receipt of your Request for Access to Public Records (noted below) dated and received in this office on June 9, 2020.
As the request is extensive, the City will comply with your request within a reasonable time period. All information will be provided that is not covered by any exception outlined in I.C. 5-14-3-4. You will be notified when this information is available and the cost. Because of the considerable volume of data requested, more than likely data will be provided on a thumb drive or cd disk. The City charges $30 for information provided by thumb drive or cd disk.
Very truly yours,
/s/ Malak B. Heiny
Associate City Attorney
Citizens Square - Suite 430
200 E. Berry Street
Fort Wayne, In 46802
Thank you for acknowledgement of my request.
Is the $30 thumb drive fee the entirety of the fee? If not, could you provide an estimate from previous requests of similar volume.
I will have to wait and see how many disks/thumb drives there are. I never know until the department forwards the information to me. Depends on the volume of documents saved to the disks.
I will let you know.
Please see the attached documents
Thanks Ms. Heiny,
Would it be possible to pay and retrieve the documents in person? If so, I can be there tomorrow.
If not, is there an online payment portal or a place to drop the check off in person to expedite retrieval?
I will be in the office today June 18, 2020 until 4:30 PM. Please feel free to stop by the office to pick up your records requested.
I will not be in the office on Friday June 19th.
